On the evening of July 9th The members of Watkins St upheld the highest standards of the job at box 2106. At 2000hrs box 2106 came over for Smoke in a building on the Cross streets of Junius St & Newport St. E231 & L120 arrived on scene to find at a fire in a 2 sty “neimeyer” type building on Junius St. With heavy fire and clutter conditions, FF Joe Masella L120 and FF Devon Phillips L120 located an older man unconscious in the front bedroom and removed him down the stairs. E231 advance the line up a very tight stairwell and hallway to the rear bedroom. When moving in on the rear bedroom the nozzle team of FF Jake Touhey E231 and FF John Hambrook E231 found another Victim in the fire room. FF Hambrook did an excellent job getting webbing on her and dragged her down handing her off to E283 on the floor below. After two difficult removals the members rejoined their companies and finished out the job to overhaul and complete extinguishment. The consistent training and dedication of the job were on display. The status of the Victims is unknown at this time. Way to go Brothers!
