A heartfelt congrats and good luck go to Bill “Poppy” McLaughlin on his retirement after 21 years of dedicated service to City of New York and the residents of Brownsville. He was an outstanding firefighter and one of the best chauffeurs to ever get behind the wheel on Watkins Street. Over the years Poppy proved himself invaluable in the day to day operations of Engine 231. He lead by example, always making sure that the work ethic and traditions of Watkins St were upheld. We wish him all the best.
